Trauma-Informed Ceremony
The intentional adaptation of ceremonial or consciousness-expanding practices to prioritize participant safety, informed consent, cultural respect, psychological screening, skilled facilitation, and integration.
Two-Eyed Seeing (Etuaptmumk)
A guiding principle introduced by Albert Marshall that encourages learning to see with one eye the strengths of Indigenous knowledge systems and with the other eye the strengths of Western science, using both together for the benefit of all.
Underground Therapy
Psychedelic-assisted therapy or facilitation conducted outside established legal or regulatory frameworks.
Visual Snow
A neurological condition characterized by continuous flickering visual static, often accompanied by palinopsia, photophobia, floaters, or afterimages.
Window of Tolerance
The range of physiological and emotional arousal within which an individual can think clearly, regulate emotions, and respond effectively to stress.
μ-Opioid Receptor
The principal opioid receptor involved in analgesia, reward, respiratory depression, and opioid dependence.
